Kick start your Garden with these 5 Garden tips!

Kick start your Garden with these 5 Garden tips!

With Summer quickly approaching, the garden is going to need some serious attention.  Everyone wants the perfect garden, but it is always seen as something that is incredibly difficult.

Well listen here friend, because the tricks to the perfect garden aren't hard at all! With these 5 easy tips, you'll be gardening like a pro and showing off your glorious garden!

1. The Plants

The flowers are great for anyone who wants to have a beautiful and easy to keep Garden!

Some plants are a lot easier to grow, so why not just plant them instead? For produce, tomatoes, peppers, onions and basil are all really easy to grow and aren't very hard to take care of. If you are looking for flowering plants, Sunflowers, Dahlia's, Foxglove's and Roses are also very beautiful flowers that have a lot of vibrant colours!

2. Maintenance

Trimming and maintaining plants will elongate the life of the plants in your Garden

Taking proper maintenance of your plants increase the plant's life drastically.  Trimming can also increase air circulation to the plant, as well as leave fewer leaves to spill water on. Get more trimming tips from Old World Gardens on Hometalk.

3. Watering Technique

Watering your plants is not only a must-have while plant-keeping, but also has a few techniques to it as well! Make your Garden Pop!

When the plants are young, ensure they get plenty of water! Lots of water ensures that the plant will grow up to be big and beautiful.  While watering, try to avoid watering the leaves of the plant, as this can easily lead to mold, rot, and sick plant!  As the plant sprouts, the general rule of thumb is to give the plant one inch of water per week.  Look out for yellow leaves!  This means that the plant is getting too much water!

4. Annual Mulching

Adding new mulch to your Garden every year is really good for your Garden's health!

Adding Fresh Mulch to your garden assists your plants in not only retaining water but also helps with weeding!  Every year, it is a good idea to add about 2 to 3 inches of fresh mulch.

5. Using Rain to your Advantage

There is not better time to go out and remove weeds than after a rainstorm! Rain makes the ground malleable and makes removing weeds out of your Garden and ease!

Although some people dislike rain, Garden centres (and your garden) love it when it rains!  Not only does it help with the colourful blooms of the plants, but it also makes the soil more malleable, which makes removing weeds very simple!

Now go out and plant!

What are you waiting for?  Summer is almost here!  It's time to start thinking about what your garden will inhabit this year!  I know I can't wait to see all of the beautiful gardens this year, especially the at-home gardens in Central Park Windsor!
